As a modern Celebrant, you need to be a ‘people-person’ and love meeting and engaging with a whole host of various clients, including couples in love wanting to commit to each other; long-term partners celebrating their existing love with a vow renewal; new parents bringing their newborn into the world with a naming ceremony, and bereaved families mourning the loss of a loved one by celebrating a life passed.

Being a Celebrant gives you the freedom to work when you choose, whether that’s part-time to supplement your income or full-time as a career. You get to choose your clients, working with couples or families, and can capitalise on your unique skill-set to specialise as a toastmaster or wedding host, for example.

Being a Celebrant is certainly that! No two days are the same: you’ll face some challenges, but ultimately the rewards and resultant joys are extremely fulfilling.

Can you be creative?

Writing and delivering all of your ceremonies will see you work with some fascinating people, couples, families, and venues in some incredible locations.

We work closely with all our clients to design and deliver amazing ceremonies, honouring milestone moments in their lives, from weddings, funerals, joyous baby-naming ceremonies and more.

As a Celebrant, you will help families to say goodbye, to welcome new lives and to bring lives together in love.

You will need to be creative to achieve the promises you will make to your clients. There are lots of references out there to help you but remember you always have the support of us, UK CELEBRANT ACADEMY and your mentor Richard Lavender, so you’re never alone and wondering!

UKCA Membership

UKCA members have full access to our resource library, in which you can access all manner of things you will need to be a modern celebrant.

We are enthusiastic, supportive and ensure that each course is fun and engaging. UKCA encourage learning through an inclusive environment, going through the process collectively – it’s important to have like-minded people around you to help you learn and grow. However, if you would prefer a one-to-one training environment, we can make that happen.

In addition to all of the above, you will have the massive benefit of having Richard Lavender as a mentor to guide you on your journey: this will benefit you in ways you just won’t know yet. This is for life!
